Description
A small, family-run farm in Montalcino, San Polino produces certified organic-biodynamic Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. With only 4.5 hectares under vine, the family conducts all labor in the vineyards by hand. Employing natural fermentation with only indigenous yeasts, San Polino is certified organic and employs biodynamic practices. The wines are aged in Slavonian oak vats that range in size from 2600 to 3800 liters and the occasional, conservative use of neutral oak barrels.
Winemaker notes: "This Brunello di Montalcino comes from a lush loamy field on the northern slopes of Montalcino. Full-bodied and structured, it has been described in glowing terms as being fruity, opulent, corpulent, luxurious and delicious."
